THE MEANING BEHIND MOONRISE

🌅 A moonrise evokes a sense of awe and wonder as it rises over the horizon. It reminds us of the magic that exists in our natural world and our connection to the mystery of life.

🌚 The moon represents feminine and receptive energy. This is a community for contemplation, introspection, listening, and emotional sincerity.

🌄 “Rise” refers to the process of ascension happening all around us. It is the cosmic force of evolution taking place through all living things simultaneously. This is source energy moving through our universe.

💞 By joining in community through a revolution of self-love, joy, wonder, and connection, we are collectively rising.

🌙 The waxing crescent represents the beginning of a lunar cycle, the phase of the moon’s monthly transit filled with hope and possibility.

WHO WE ARE

We love Human Design.

Moonrise was born from a deep friendship and a shared passion for Human Design. Co-founders Sam and Nadia bring together a unique blend of expertise, intuition, and laughter. At Moonrise, we’re not just guides; we’re your fellow travelers, committed to living a life on purpose and supporting your path every step of the way.

Nadia and Sam independently stumbled upon Human Design during their spiritual awakenings, quickly becoming avid learners and sharing their insights with friends and family. Their mutual friend, a 2/4 Emotional Manifestor, intrigued by their separate yet passionate discussions, decided to introduce them. Sam sent Nadia a voice memo and they have enjoyed a nearly daily exchange of shared Human Design and spiritual inquiry ever since.

Having a friend along a similar path of inner inquiry is one of life’s most precious gifts. Inspired by this conviction, Sam and Nadia founded Moonrise to foster a community where like-minded seekers can connect, grow, and inspire each other on their path back to the heart.

Meet Sam and Nadia

We first hatched the idea for Moonrise all the way back in February 2021—this community has literally been years in the making! Read more about how we each got into Human Design below.

  • I (Sam) had just moved to New York City to work in Big Law as a civil litigator when I first heard about Human Design on a podcast. I was a few months into my spiritual awakening, and was consuming all of the spiritual content I could get my hands on.

At the time, I was overwhelmed with the incredibly rigorous demands of my job, but amazed by the talent and opportunity surrounding me. I knew almost immediately that this job would not be a long term fit, but I was determined to find a way to be successful in such an intense environment. I needed tools that would help me stay calm, focused, and positive, even in a very stressful and consuming environment.

I heard about human design in my first weeks of work and immediately dove in. It felt so affirming - as if this system was describing what it felt like to be me in a way I’ve never articulated before - but also so freeing. It gave me permission to embrace the qualities of myself that I had always appreciated but dismissed. It helped me see that disliking my job didn’t mean that there was something wrong with me and gave me clarity around what was important for me. And it was pragmatic. It gave me practical tools, specifically designed for me, and helped me stay positive and empowered in an environment that could have easily felt defeating and uninspired.

Over the years, by embodying the lessons I learned through Human Design, I have changed almost every significant part of my life, including my career trajectory, my romantic relationship, where I live, and how I relate to my body. These changes have been so beneficial and expansive. I have developed an unshakeable sense of self-trust and self-love that allows me to pursue my interests and passions with so much more joy and confidence. My life now is a dream for my younger self.

To my core, I believe that the purpose of our time on Earth is to deeply enjoy and experience our lives, our bodies, and the people around us. But along the way, we need help remembering. We forget about how amazing we are, we lose sight of our innate gifts, and we get distracted with limiting beliefs, judgments, and fear. Human Design is a very helpful tool to help us remember. It is not the only tool, by any means, but it is an effective one. I share this system because I want anyone who would benefit from it to know it exists and have access to it.

In addition to sharing this beautiful system, I am an embodiment coach and intuitive through my platform Wild River. I work with clients on reclaiming their vibrancy, moving through big personal transformations, and navigating a spiritual awakening. It is deep, transformative work, and feels like a calling. Check out my Instagram @wildriver or my podcast, Wild River.

I live in Austin, Texas. I love to see live music, hike, travel, and spend time with friends and family.

  • I (Nadia) discovered Human Design during a period in my life when I felt profoundly lost and disillusioned with the corporate marketing career I had dedicated myself to for the past decade. Learning about my gifts, my Projector energy, and particularly my conscious Sun Gate, Gate 42—the gate of growth—was a significant awakening for me. A dream I had held close to my heart since I was seven years old suddenly surged forth within me.

I aspired to be a healer, a guide, a therapist, and to devote my life to studying esoteric knowledge. Human Design resonated deeply with me. I began looking up the charts of everyone in my life, and soon, a profound generational healing emerged as I started to understand my family members and friends with greater compassion and clarity. Engaging with the system felt less like learning and more like remembering; I remembered the charts of my family and friends effortlessly. For some reason, I seem to possess a photographic memory for Human Design charts. Despite attempting to "retire" from Human Design multiple times, the system invariably kept finding its way back to me. I have now fully embraced Human Design as a lifelong tool for contemplation and inner inquiry. It has also become an invaluable tool in my toolbox working with clients as a psychotherapist.

All my life I have been fascinated by personality tests and have taken nearly every one I could find. Human Design stands out because it does not rely on subjective self-insight. It is an objective system based on your birth date, which adds a layer of magic and illumination by recognizing qualities in you that others experience but of which you might not be as aware. My journey on this path has been through studying my own chart, and I am continually humbled by the many multifaceted ways in which the system impacts the lives of those who learn about it. It serves as a tool for self-remembering, radical self-acceptance, and love. Naturally, it fosters curiosity and compassion for the people around us.

In addition to sharing Human Design, I have a private therapy practice in Northern California and host a podcast about spirituality and psychology called The Current. I also assist a handful of psychedelic-assisted therapy retreats each year.

I live in Marin Country, California and love taking hikes in the hills behind our home with our dogs Otis and Murphy. I also have a daily singing meditation practice and love a good karaoke party.

OUR CHARTS

As Human Design teachers and guides, our definition is almost entirely complementary to one another! When you learn from us, you’ll receive two differentiated takes about this system and your unique chart.

  • Sam is a 4/1 Emotional Manifesting Generator born under the Juxtaposition Cross of Strategy. Her conscious sun is in gate 59, the gate of intimacy.

  • Nadia is a 4/6 Splenic Projector born under the Right Angle Cross of the Maya. Her conscious sun gate is in gate 42, the gate of growth.

We hope to meet people experiencing a spiritual awakening and welcome them into an awakened life’s path with open arms.

“Awakened” simply means living life with a greater sense of the interconnectedness of all things and an increased sense of empathy, connection to the heart, and presence.
